Back from Chennai

It’s been a one helluva trip to chennai despite being very short. Caught up with my brother and managed to make a quick trip to 'Mahabalipuram' too. Chennai was a bit hotter than Hyderabad and thankfully wasn’t sultry. It was kinda pleasant with intermittent showers greeting me.

Mahabalipuram was stunningly beautiful. It was a great sight to view the ancient structures which I always used to wonder as kid in my history class. The temples were intact and so were other structures. For a moment I could feel all the details my history sir strained to teach us, come to life in front of me. The history attached to it was even more insightful which gave me gooseflesh. The shops dotting the coastline of Mahabalipuram were equally interesting in terms of the handicrafts they had to sell to the tourists. Thanks to my mom's negotiation skills, she could manage 60-70% cut on the exorbitant prices quoted by the vendors.

Had a look at the 'Kovalam Beach' which was on the way back to chennai. It was kinda busy with fishermen unloading their load and bargaining a price for it. The smooth sand on the beach was bright and clean unlike the beach in chennai. Then had to rush back to be able to board the train on time.

For all those who've never been there, I would suggest to quickly scan the calendar for the available dates and make a trip. You're bound to be thrilled and don’t forget to thank me then :)

But it had been all fun for me. I was down with fever from the moment i had boarded the train and saw through the entire trip by surviving on pills and pain-killers. It was only after reaching Hyderabad I was diagnosed with a mild case of 'Chikungunya'.

Hope to get well soon so that I can reach DMS in perfect health and spirit.
