Near to Death Experience...

Ok...its not as horrifying as the title sounds but nonetheless it could have been worse.
Today earthquake shook most part of North India and Delhi in particular. This was my first experience of witnessing an earthquake and was an amazing experience .

Slept at 3:30 am in the morning and was in no mood to wake up before 11am but then nature decided to gimme a rude wakeup call. Roughly about at 9:30 am in the morning I woke up when I felt like I was travelling in a train. My bed was shaking and so where the table and the windows. I could hear voices screaming " Hostel khaali kharo " ( Vacate the Hostel ) and when i glanced out of my window, I could see hordes of guys gathered in the open lawn shouting and screaming.

I soon came to my senses and was busy contemplating ...
>>whether to jump from the 3rd floor or to take the stairs
>>which one would hurt the most ??
>>do i have time to brush and run ??
>>should i carry my lappy ??
>>what about my guitar ( though i never play it )??

I tried to wake up my friend who was still sleeping and dreaming of a perfect score in the minors... and as I've already mentioned in the earlier post ..sleep has become such a precious commodity nowadays that my friend went back to sleep saying that he had no intentions of spoiling his sleep for some stupid earthquake. Poor soul...

In a couple of minutes the tremors calmed down and so did my stupid thoughts. But what if this would've been worse than this ?? How should I've reacted or responded in such situations ??For novices like me...Here's a short list of do's ( Source : Yogi )

In case of an earthquake
>> Rush to an open groundspace
>> If you're stuck in a building and cant go out make sure you stand beneath a pillar (coz thats the last thing thats gonna come down)
>> If you want more ... call the fire dept. :D
